Why are robots a low risk option?

Whenever a new concept is introduced to the world, there are always certain misconceptions that prevent full adoption. Of course, robots and robotic technology fall into this category perfectly.

However, whether people are concerned about job losses or the reduction in human control, there’s no denying that this type of technology is here to stay. In fact, robots are low risk and can even add value to your operations moving forward.

Not convinced yet? Read on to find out why robots are the future across your industry.

Robots are already proven technology

The International Federation of Robotics (IFR) noted that robot sales had grown 29 per cent in 2014.

In a number of sectors including technical manufacturing, electronics, food, and commodity production, industrial robots are making a significant difference to repetitive production processes. Robots can operate at high volume and production rates for an extended period of time before needing service and with a new emphasis on flexibility, this technology is making real productivity gains for SMEs and companies with short-run manufacturing models.

This is backed by the International Federation of Robotics (IFR) which noted that robot sales had grown 29 per cent in 2014 – the highest volume ever recorded. The Asia/Oceania region which included New Zealand and Australia saw sales rise a massive 41 per cent over the same time period, making it the biggest robot market on the planet.

Most future-proofed of any industrial machine

One of the real advantages of robots is the flexibility of the technology. For example, a well-designed robotic system could be deployed to pack jars into boxes, then able to move onto cans, pottles or bottles when market requirements change. In comparison, conventional, non-robotic machinery can’t compete with this level of flexibility and will be redundant with this type of market shift.

As such, businesses can use modern robotic systems to their advantage, re-purposing and altering robots to suit an end-users changing market. Whether this is new products, production processes or growth, it’s possible to utilise this technology as the enterprise requires.

Robots represent a more productive business future.

Robots aren’t fringe technology anymore

There once was a time when robots were considered edgy technology with questionable benefits, especially in short-run production operations. However, businesses such as Design Energy are putting significant effort into developing and supporting robotic technologies that are fast, cost-effective, easier to use and more collaborative than ever.

It’s important to note that as the robotic trend has no sunset, this technology will continue to improve with better performance benefits and features into the future.

How can Design Energy assist your business goals?

As a high-quality local supplier, Design Energy not only sells the robot brands we represent, but we use them ourselves in our AutoMATE turn-key production machines which maximises our level of skills and support.
